1. Information We Collect

We only collect information necessary to operate a safe, verified pet adoption community:

  • Account details: your name, email address, and role (adopter, rehomer, or rescue/charity).
  • Verification documents (for rescues and charities only): ABN/ACN, charity registration, and proof of identity.
  • Listing content: information and photos you upload about pets available for adoption.
  • Usage data: basic logs required for security and to diagnose platform issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and secure the service, including:

  • Authenticating logins and preventing fraudulent accounts.
  • Manually verifying rescues and charities before granting a Blue Tick.
  • Facilitating secure messaging between adopters and listers without exposing personal phone numbers.
  • Sending important account, billing, and moderation notifications.

3. Payment Information

We do not store your credit card details on our servers. All subscription payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Only a payment reference is kept on our side for billing purposes.

4. Who We Share Data With

We never sell your personal information. Limited data is shared only in these cases:

  • With Stripe, to process subscription payments.
  • With our email delivery provider, to send you transactional emails (e.g. password resets, notifications).
  • When legally required to comply with Australian law or a court order.

5. Listings and Public Information

Pet listings you post (photos, names, breed, location) are visible to other subscribed members. Your full legal name, email address, and verification documents are never made public.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and restricted access to verification documents. No platform is entirely immune to risk, so we also encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

7. Your Rights

You may at any time:

  • Access or correct the personal information in your dashboard.
  • Delete your listings or your entire account.
  • Cancel your subscription from your account settings.
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing our support team.

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email and through a notice on the site. Continued use of Furry Friend Match after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
